Martell Barnes Green

Martell Barnes Green, 97, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on November 25, 2021, due to age. Martell was born on January 8, 1924, at the home of her grandmother Susanna Robins in Kaysville, Utah. She is the daughter of Christopher Jefferson and Myrtle Robins Barnes and LaVon Webster Barnes.
She attended Layton Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and graduating from Davis High School.
Mother worked at the Ogden Arsenal, Layton Sugar Factory, Davis County School, and Clover Club.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many different callings. She was currently a member of the Adams Park Ward.
She married Junior David Green in Layton, Utah on August 10, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mother loved gardening, canning, crocheting, and knitting where she made many beautiful things, that she shared with her family and friends. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan until the day of her death.
She is survived by her three children, Norma (Bud) Cox, Suzanne Flinders, and Bartley B. Green; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, and great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton East Stake Center, 1012 N. Emerald Dr., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Tuesday, November 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
