Martha V. Garcia, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her home.

She was born on February 28, 1946 in Ogden, Utah to Julian and Sophie C. Speer. She was raised in Ogden then moved to Dolores, Colorado where she graduated from Dolores High School in 1964. She relocated to Salt Lake City where she enjoyed her job with Ballet West as a seamstress. After a short time she moved to Roy and raised her children. Later she worked in the banking Industry for many years and retired from Wells Fargo.

Martha was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and special friend, Sandy.

Martha is survived by her mother, Sophie Speer, Cortez, CO; children, Ernie Garcia, Roy; Jamie (Jami) Garcia, Hooper; Dusty Garcia, Salt Lake City; Stacy Hunter, Las Vegas, NV; Patti (Darrin) McLean, Helena, MT; grandchildren, Karson and Kameron Garcia; Kami and Garret McLean; RJ and Isabelle Hunter; six brothers and ten sisters.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julian, two brothers, Billy and Albert, two sisters, Romancita and Theresa.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
