Marva LaFay Friedli Nicholls, 94, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born on August 28, 1929 in Logan, UT to Fredrick A. Friedli and Emilie Speth. Marva graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University.
She married Marell Bud Nicholls and together they had eight children. Marva and Marell later divorced.
She enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters, knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning and took great pride in taking care of her yard. Marva was very involved with 4-H and Boy Scouts. She served faithfully in primary and young womens and was a dedicated temple worker for six years in the Ogden Temple.
Marva is survived by her children, Val (Debbie) Nicholls, Michael Nicholls, Troy Nicholls, Tracy (Becky) Nicholls, Sherry (Miles) Crabtree, LuAnn (Boyd) Hansen, Janice (Harvey) Lansing and Robin Nicholls; 26 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, LaRee Olsen; brother, Lorin Friedli and daughter-in-law, Julie Nicholls.
The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the tender care that was given to Marva by the staff of Our House Assisted Living.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Logan City Cemetery, 1000 N. 1200 E. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
