Marva Schade Pike
1920 - 2011
A very special lady Marva Schade Pike, 91, passed away August 2, 2011 at her home in Liberty, Utah. She was born to Adam Wilhart and Osia Marie Lillie (Jensen) Schade on April 29, 1920 in Huntsville, Utah. She was the 2nd daughter in a family of 5 children. She loved her home life, her family and friends. From childhood to her later years she was always active. In her youth she swam, hiked, explored, and in school graduated in the top 10 of her class (Weber High). She married Delbert Elijah Pike in the Salt Lake Temple on May 1, 1942; they were together for 43 years before his death in 1985. She was an avid quilter, ardent reader, knowledgeable in herbs and their uses, loved flowers, active in church, faithful in her testimony of Christ, enjoyed singing, being with people, and serving.
Marva is survived by her children Donna (Eric) Johnson and Keith (Louise) Pike, a sister Gloria Janse, a brother Fenno Schade, 10 grandchildren and 18 1/2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, her son Bruce, two brothers, her parents, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Nordic Valley Ward, 2900 No. Hwy 162, Eden, Utah. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 11:30 to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
