Marvin Cole, 74, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2013.
Marvin was born on August 17, 1938 in Preston, Idaho to Ervon Leroy and Ethel Winn Cole. In 1952 he moved with his family to Ogden, Utah and later graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1957.
He married Shirley Patient Perry on May 23, 1958. In December of 1964 they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised their family in North Ogden and moved to Perry in 2006.
Marvin was a very hard worker all of his life. He was a perfectionist and took pride in his work. He retired in 1997 from E-Systems in Salt Lake City as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed traveling with his family. He and Shirley traveled throughout Europe, the U.S. and the Caribbean. He was a dedicated son, husband, and father and loved his family and helped them in countless ways throughout the years.
Marvin was an avid hunter and fisherman. For over 25 years he loved spending time at his retreat in Bear Lake, and earned many awards for the BIG fish he caught.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his children; Kirk (Teena) Cole, Tammy (Tim) Kilts, Cindy (Brent) Ballif, and Kris (John) Estheimer. Brothers; Jerald Morgan, David Cole and Craig Cole; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edgar "Toby" Morgan and Ezra Morgan.
Marvin has a testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. His family is excited for him to be reunited with his wonderful father and angel mother, whom he adores. He will be greatly missed by his family but we know that we will have the opportunity to be with him once again.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Perry 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 685 West 2250 South in Perry, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Preston, Idaho City Cemetery.
