Marvin L. Felt
OGDEN – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Marvin L. Felt, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2008.
Marvin was born August 5, 1927 in Ogden, to Don F. and Florence Mortensen Felt.
He married Beth Judd on September 2, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Marvin graduated from Ogden High School in 1946 and attended Weber State College. During his school years, he excelled in all sports and held the state record in the javelin throw for many years.
Marvin served with the Weber County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue organization for many years.
He served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged.
Marvin retired from J. Ron Stacey Construction after a career in the construction industry. He also owned his own sweeping and snow removal business for many years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings.
Marvin’s family was his life.
Marvin’s greatest joy was being with and helping his family and neighbors. He will especially be missed by his little dog, Phoebe Sweetie. The family would like to express their appreciation for the kind care offered to our Dad by the staff of Wasatch Care Center, McKay-Dee Hospital, and his physicians Drs. Mansfield and Holland.
Surviving are his wife, Beth; children, Joye Felt, Jann (Eric) Quist, Lisa Maw, and Julie (Kelly) Snowball; grandchildren, Hudd (Heather) Hayes, Adam (Desiree) Van Dyke, Jennifer (George) Evans, Andrew (Brittney) Van Dyke, Jessica Maw, Kelsea Snowball, Curtis Snowball; seven great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Edna Petersen Felt.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Don F. (Dugan) Felt, Jr., infant daughter, Mary Jean, and infant granddaughter, Amanda Van Dyke.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
