Marvin R Hawks
Clinton - Marvin R Hawks passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 due to complications of a broken hip. He was born May 17, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Ut; son of Rueben and Ellen Hawks. Marvin was raised in Price and graduated from Carbon High School. He married LoMay Jean Waterfield on June 11, 1950 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was killed in an automobile accident in 1978. He moved up to the Davis County area in 1959. On November 29, 1980 he married Frances Heward which was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS temple. After marrying Frances they moved to Washington Terrace where he resided until moving into the assisted living in 2011.
He worked for Mills Equipment Company and later went into partnership with Henry Mills. He also owned H&M Leasing Co; leasing vehicles to the post offices.
He was an active lifetime member of the Syracuse Lions Club.
Marvin enjoyed life...going dancing, golfing, traveling, and spending time at his cabin in Island Park snowmobiling and fishing with friends and family. He also enjoyed going to Weber State basketball games.
He is survived by his wife Frances, sister Claudia and six sisters in laws. His children; Kathy Pace (Ed), Charlotte Kearsley, Jaylene Page (Wendell), and Carla Parks (Rob). Stepchildren; Lynn Donaldson, Mary Jane Arrant (Jim), and Gary Heward (Michelle). Sixteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, first wife (LoMay) and granddaughter (Kari Lynn Flint).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Point 5th Ward, 3500 W. 300 N., West Point. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
