Marvin B. Russell
OGDEN - Marvin Blair Russell, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2007. He was born February 7, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, to William Blair and Margaret Swenson Russell.
He married Vaunda Rae Kranendonk, and they resided in South Ogden. They had nine children: Roxanne, Randy, Ron (Coleen), Rochelle (Dave) Richins, Rhonda (Tony) Swapp, Robyn (Mike) Butterfield, Rick, Rod (Faye), Raeni (Aran) Bailey.
He attended schools in Huntsville and Ogden City, where he enjoyed and excelled in all sports, especially baseball.
Dad was a pioneer in men’s hairstyling, being the first men’s hairstylist in Utah. He owned many businesses, including Oakridge Barber Shop, A Razor’s Edge, and Public Beauty Supply.
He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished the day he went to the temple.
His passions included reading, television, and traveling. He loved his westerns, murder-mysteries, and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.
He is survived by his wife and children, 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his mother, his brothers, Scott (Marty), Jeff, and Robert (Angela), his sisters, Pennie (Dave) Powell, and Margaret (Clark) Roberts, and a sister-in-law, Carol Russell. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Roger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The viewing will be from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
