MARY GRACE VALDEZ ATENCIO June 3, 1933 - June 18, 2013

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed from this earthly realm on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She joins her soul mate, the love of her life, Joseph Isador Atencio, just weeks after celebrating her 80th birthday. We take comfort knowing she is reunited with her husband after 40 years apart.

She was born in Montrose, Colorado and lived in Del Norte, Denver and Monte Vista before permanently moving to Ogden, Utah in 1953. "Amazing" Grace brought joy and a big loving heart to everyone she met. She will be remembered for her wit, kindness and smiling eyes. Her laughter brightened up any setting she entered and lifted everyone''s hearts. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Mary Grace married Joe in 1953. They resided in Washington Terrace, where they raised their family. She opened her first beauty shop in the early 1970''s and enjoyed hairstyling for many years. Joe preceded her in death in 1973 and she continued to raise their five children with love, patience and dedication.

She faced life with courage and vitality, especially during her final years as she struggled with health issues. She maintained her sense of humor and positive attitude when facing adversity and is an inspiration to her family and friends. Momma, you will be missed, loved and thought of every day.

Mary Grace is survived by her children, Ron Atencio, Lorraine Fields, Len Atencio, Annette Bubak, and Trina Cleveland; her grandchildren, Mishayla Bubak, Brennan Bubak, Trey Bubak, Hannah Cleveland and Hailey Cleveland; her brothers, Tom Valdez, Levi Valdez and Lawrence DeLion. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Varqas; father, Juan Valdez and several dear brothers and sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden. Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., prior to services. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A ceremony in Grace''s memory will be held at 7 p.m.

Interment will be held at a later date at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park.

Special thanks and appreciation go to Crestwood Care Center, along with Tammy and crew at Encompass Hospice Care who cared for Grace. Their love, kindness and attention will forever be appreciated.
