Mary Lou R. Cahoon
SOUTH WEBER a" Mary Lou Rives Cahoon, 85, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Country Pines Assisted Living in Clinton.
She was born October 1, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, a daughter of Rell W. and Murial Tuttle Rives.
Mary Lou married Reed Spencer Cahoon, Jr., on February 8, 1945 in Manti. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years as a secretary.
Mary Lou loved to travel with her husband. They became Arizona Snowbirds, then permanent residents of Arizona for 17 years before returning to Utah. She loved the outdoors, gardening and her flowers. Mom went snow skiing and water skiing with her family. Her lady friends in Sierra Vista were her best friends. Mom also played golf on a women''s league. Most of all, she was a loving wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband Spencer, her son Wayne (Rose) Cahoon, six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brothers, Wayne (Ruth Marie) Rives, Ogden; Rell Jr (Carla) Rives, Utah; Frank (Jinx) Rives, FL; and her sister, Carolyn (Verg) Glismann, South Weber.
Preceding Mary Lou in death were her parents and her sister Joyce Stevens.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
