Mary Rasmussen Collett
KAYSVILLE a" Mary Rasmussen Collett passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. She was born August 27, 1919 in Naples, Uintah County, Utah the daughter of Willard Fredrick and Inez Harrison Rasmussen.
She spent her childhood in Naples and graduated from Uintah High School. She then went to Salt Lake City and graduated from the LDS Business College. While in Salt Lake she worked for the Genealogy Library and the Arms plant.
Mary married Vene Billings Collett on January 10, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived about 8 years in Ashley Ward near Vernal then they moved to Cedar City than to American Fork and finally to Kaysville in 1958. She has lived in Kaysville ever since. She worked at the Defense Depot Ogden for 20 years.
Her husband, Vene died in 1994.
Mary was an active member of the LDS Church, Relief Society, taught Primary and active in the Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her brother, Earl (Sharon) Rasmussen and sister, Edna Call of Salt Lake City and sisters-in-law Rae Rasmussen, Beth Sweatfield of Vernal, and Lurae Mortensen of Roosevelt. Also her son Brent Collett of Pleasant Grove; daughter, Arlene Sharpe of St. George; son, Don (Debi) Collett of Brigham City; sons Scott and Claire Collett of Kaysville; and daughter, Inez (Steven) Pearce of Clearfield, Utah. She has 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville 8th Ward, 25 So. 200 E. (Rock Chapel). Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
