Mary A. Cooper passed away at Rocky Mountain Care Nursing Home on Saturday, November 4, 2017. She was born in Delta City, Mississippi, on November 14, 1923, the fourth eldest of five children to “Doc” and Louisiana Wallace. Mary grew up in Delta City, Mississippi as a young girl. She and family moved from Delta City to Anquilla, Mississippi, then to Ogden, Utah.  She met and married Donald Cooper while living in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mary is survived by her sister, Minnie L. Wallace; nephew; James Wallace and wife Sherrell; nephew, Jessie Wallace; a host of nieces; other nephews and friends, especially Teri Hill. She was preceded in death by her father, Doc Wallace; mother, Louisiana Wallace; sister, Lucille Wallace; brother, A D Wallace; brother, Eugene Wallace; and niece, Jessie M. Lyons.

Mary was a longtime member of 2nd Baptist Church.

Aunt Mary, as so many people called her, will always be remembered for her quiet strength, her beautiful smile, and how she loved dressing and wearing her jewelry.

To our Dear Aunt Mary, the best sister, and aunt ever, you will always be loved and missed. You will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the 2nd Baptist Church, 227 27th St., Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

The family of Mary A. Cooper would like to thank the caring staff from Rocky Mountain Care Nursing Home.
