Mary Claire Reese Jackson Danowski returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015.
Born Feb. 1, 1937, in Oxford, Idaho to Warren Keel Jackson and Mary Hannah (Whiting) Jackson. Her mother passed away just three days after her birth but she was raised as a daughter by her beloved uncle and aunt, William and Ethel (Fannin) Whiting in Salmon, ID and then Salt Lake City, UT.
Mary searched long and hard to find her one-true-love, Edward Danowski. They were married June 1, 1979.
She is survived by Edward, one daughter, Debora Smedley (Steve), three stepchildren, Greg Danowski (Brenda), Daniel Danowski (Laurie), and Daleana Gilbride (Patrick ), ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Jaegerman. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncle, and four brothers, Cecil, Mervell, Eddy, and Wesley. She loved her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren very much. The grandchildren called her “Gransy” and the great-grandchildren called her “Gigi.” She will be greatly missed but is with her family that has gone before her now and she is in peace.
The family of Mary would like to thank her care-givers for the wonderfully caring and compassionate service they gave her. A special thank you to Dr. Hansen, Dr. Herold, Dr. Ingersoll, and all of their wonderful staffs. McKay-Dee Hospital Intermediate Care Unit staff were all especially kind and loving to Mary and her family.
Per Mary’s wishes, there will be no formal services but we will celebrate her life in the near future with family. Interment will be at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton. Arrangements under the direction of Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.
