Mary Penman Green passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. She was born April 6, 1934, to Ether and Bertha Edith Allen. She is the oldest of four children.
Mary attended Weber County Schools, graduating from Weber High School. After graduation she worked at Hill Air Force Base where she met Ralph Jay Green. They were later married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 2, 1953, and together raised four children.
Mary spent many years as a stay-at-home mom for many years before starting her career at Internal Revenue Service. She built strong friendships and work relationships that lasted beyond retirement.
Mary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she faithfully served for many years.
Mary and Jay looked forward to their annual trips to Yellowstone and Bear Lake. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, dipping chocolates, crocheting, bowling, volunteering for the Olympics and spending time with the family especially family reunions.
She was a master at filleting fish.
Mary is survived by three children; LouAnn, Pat, and Ron. 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jay Green and her son Michael J. Green.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Syracuse City Cemetery. 1250 South 1000 West, Syracuse UT. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse UT.
