Mary Bunderson Halverson

Mary Bunderson Halverson, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018.
Mary was born February 13, 1936, in Tremonton, Utah, to Arnold and Martha Bunderson. Mary and eight other siblings grew up on a homestead in Stone, Idaho, and later moved to Grandview Acres in Ogden, Utah.
Mary graduated from Ogden High School in 1954, and later from Weber State College with her Registered Nursing Degree. She later earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Utah and her Masters of Public Administration from Brigham Young University.
Mary started her nursing career at Dee Hospital and later worked at McKay Dee Hospital as a Head Nurse of the Nursery. She worked a total of 35 years in the nursing profession and was a pioneer in several innovations in the nursing field.
Mary married Gary W. Halverson on September 28, 1956, in the Logan LDS Temple. They had five children together and raised all to be active in the LDS Church. Mom loved to serve the church and especially loved her Road Show performance callings. She performed and directed hundreds of performances, road shows, plays and readers theaters for the church as well as the community. She loved telling stories and was a part of the story telling guild.
Of all of her joys her most important was her family whom she cherished. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Gary W. Halverson; sons, Michael (Jodi) Halverson, Kirk (Betsy) Halverson; and daughter, Sherry Halverson Kerbo. She is preceded in death by two children, Scott (Vicky) Halverson, and Jeffrey (Claudette) Halverson. Her parents, Arnold and Martha Bunderson; brothers: Earl, Dee, and Leroy; and sisters: Marie, Arlene, Donna, Sally, Mildred, and Nila.
The family would like to thank Peak Hospice, Suzy's Compassionate Care Services and Camree Larkin for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Weber Heights Stake Center, 1401 Country Hills Dr., Ogden. Friends may visit family Friday, February 2, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, and Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
