Mary Larue Gilson Jenne
May 28, 1925 ~ February 2, 2017
After a separation of 13 years and 17 days, Mary Larue Gilson Jenne, 91, joined her beloved eternal companion on the afternoon of February 2, 2017. Our beloved mother; grandmother; great-grandmother; great-great-grandmother, and sister will be sorely missed.
Mary was born on May 28, 1925 in Cleveland, Utah. She was the fourth of nine children born to Forest and Pearl Havannah Dumayne Gilson. She served as a full-time missionary in the North Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While serving as a missionary, she met Earl Anthony Jenne. They were later married in the Manti LDS Temple, where Mary had previously been sealed to her parents.
Mary found her deepest joy and truest sense of mission in mothering three sons and five daughters, Forest (Judy) Jenne of Kaysville, Utah; Stanley (Christine) Jenne of Vineyard, Utah; LaRue (Alan) Briscoe of Layton, Utah; Tina (Patrick) Bohannon of Washington Terrace, Utah; Diana Woods of Riverdale, Utah; Karen (Kay) Riley of Fruitland, Idaho; Anthony (Hillary) Jenne of Vernal, Utah; and Katherine (Gordon) Guymon of Clinton, Utah. Her joy has been magnified in her senior years by 36 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren with more on the way, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Earl and Mary were married for 55 years before death separated them. Mary’s parents, two sisters, three brothers, and two grandchildren preceded her in death. She is survived by three of her siblings, Lavon Long, Foresta Nielson, and Charles (Lavee) Gilson.
Mary served faithfully in each of the auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She cherished the opportunity to attend the Ogden and Bountiful LDS Temples where she received peace through the promise that families can be together forever.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Washington Terrace 5th Ward, 350 West 5100 South. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
