Mary Jesus Fernandez Clark

Maria (Mary) Jesus Fernandez Clark, age 96, completed her journey in this world on July 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 13, 1927, in the small town of Tangancicuero, Michoacan, Mexico.  On September 16, 1954, she married Paul Raymond Clark in Reno Nevada.

Although she loved her parents, siblings and the beautiful area where she grew up, when she was young, Mary made the decision to live in the United States so when she had children, they would have a better life and opportunities she did not. For that, her family is eternally grateful. 

Her husband Paul passed away in 1975 and Mary raised their five children on her own.  She provided them with a loving home, full of care and compassion.

Mary will be remembered for being spontaneous, her amazing gardens (no matter what size space she had to work with) and dinners that brought the entire family together.  She was a gentle, yet tenacious soul that touched everyone she met with her light and love.

She is survived by her brother David Fernandez, daughters Michelle Carey (Curt), Cindy Wagner and sons Bobby, Sam and Kelly.  Mary also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Clark.

Michelle and Cindy would like to acknowledge the overwhelming love and support they received from Mary’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and Simbi care givers during her final days.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy UT.  The family will meet with friends  from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will take place afterwards at the Provo Cemetery, 610 S. State St. Provo, UT.
