Mary Alice Barber Lamb, beloved mom, grandma, and great-grandma, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010.

Mary was born August 22, 1919 in Weakly County in Tennessee, to James Duey and Mary Elizabeth Stoveall Barber. She grew up in the Weakly County, Tennessee. She attended Chesnut Glade School where she graduated with honors.

She later met James Leonard Lamb. They were married on June 28, 1941 and lived in the country on a farm by Dresden, Tennessee. They had one son. They continued to live on the farm until 1960 when their son graduated from Dresden High School. Shortly after, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky where they lived for the past 50 years.

Mary loved to read and she loved roses.

Mary is survived by her husband, James Leonard Lamb; her son, James R. Lamb; her sister, Nadeen Margaret Teague; her grandchildren, Heather Hartley, Heidi Quattlebaum; and her great-grandchildren, Ricky Blue Quattlebaum and Texie Belle Quattlebaum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one aunt.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at the Roy City Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
