Mary Margaret Hualde McKenna
April 27, 1924 ~ April 10, 2016
Mary Margaret Hualde McKenna, 91, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2016. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend. She left a legacy of love, kindness, and gratitude.
She was born on April 27, 1924 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Pedro and Margeurite Jaureguito Hualde. She was raised in Ogden where she attended school and graduated from Ogden High School in 1942.
She married James Edward McKenna on July 7, 1944, in San Diego, CA. He passed away on November 27, 1990. Her love for her beloved husband, Jim, began when she was very young, and she remained fiercely devoted to him her entire life. She missed him dearly for the past 25 years. She was a loyal and faithful lady.
Mary loved life. She loved her little home and everything about it. She loved all people and always saw the good in everyone she met. Wherever she went, she would seek opportunities to reach out to and uplift people and always had a smile and something nice to say. Everyone was her friend. She had a special love and affection for her dear brothers; John, Henry, and Pierre. She was a consummate lady full of dignity and grace.
Most of all, Mary loved her family which consisted of anyone who was in anyway related or connected to her or who was willing to be part of her family. Her life was devoted to her dear husband and family. Her singular purpose and entire focus in life was to ensure that they were all happy and well. She was satisfied that this had been achieved and that her life was complete. Her favorite place to be was wherever her family was. She was proud of each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of their spouses and loved them all equally. Her love was pure. She was truly good and without guile.
Mary is survived by her sons, Michael (Nancy), Kelly (Salli), and Patrick (Ann); daughters, Karen (Greg) Tanner, and Colleen (Scott) Heiner; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren with three on the way; brother, Pierre (Olive) Hualde. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Robert Henry; and brothers, John Mathieu and Henry Mathieu. The family would like to thank Mary's dear friend and helper, Rhonda Personette, who lovingly served her for the past five years.
