OGDEN a€" On Saturday, January 29, 2011, our beloved mother, Mary G. Mendoza, returned to Almighty God. She died at Ogden Regional Medical Center from causes incident to age.

Our Mom was born July 19, 1919 in Guanajuato, Mexico, a daughter of Pablo and Aniceta Jaso Gallegos. She became a naturalized United States Citizen in August of 2003.

Mom married Refugio Flores in May of 1935 in Tonopah, Nevada. He died in December of 1935. She married Manual M. Mendoza in December of 1936 in Tonopah, Nevada. He preceded her in death in June of 1956.

Our Mom lived in Tonopah, Nevada for a number of years and in Ogden since 1949.

Mom was a very active member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church. She was a member of Sacred Heart Promoters Club and C.C.W. organization, and volunteered with the Retired and Senior Volunteer programs for many years.

She retired from St. Benedict''s Hospital after a career of 37 years in the dietary department, and was named Outstanding Employee in 1972.

Some of our Mom''s favorite interests were ceramics, knitting, crocheting and traveling.

Mom is our most precious angel and has now been called home to heaven. Her children will continue to carry on her precious work.

Surviving are her two sons and three daughters, Roy P. Mendoza, Ogden, UT; Benny J. (Claudia) Mendoza, Toquerville, UT; Lucie (Jim) VonGesjen, Evergreen, CO; Ellen M. (Louis) Payan, West Haven, UT; Marie Mendoza, Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters, Frank Gallegos, Al Gallegos, John Gallegos, Lupe Gallegos, Maurice Gallegos, Ramona English and Rebecca Podgorny.

Preceding our Mom in death were her parents, her sister Irene Medina and brothers Chris Gallegos, Joe Gallegos and Bernadino Gallegos.

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, 514 a€" 24th Street.

A viewing will be held at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Mom''s earthly resting place will be Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, UT.
