Mary Katura Vincent Moyle 1906 ~ 2007
LAYTON a" Mary Katura Vincent Moyle, age 101, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 of natural causes.
Mary was born February 6, 1906 in Provo, Utah. She was the 1st child of Charles Edward Vincent and Caroline Josephine Hansen. Mary attended school in Provo and went on to graduate in 1927 from Salt Lake General Hospital as a nurse.
Mary worked in various places as a nurse and then married Austin DeMeade Moyle on May 31, 1928. They started their family near Beryl, Utah with the birth of a son Austin DeMeade born 1929, followed by Lane Vincent (son) born 1930, Austin Kaae (son) born 1934, Carol Virginia born 1935, married James Morris, CA; and Helen Rose Ann born 1939 married Wilburn Phelps. They farmed and ranched in that area for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, sons Austin DeMeade and Austin Kaae and four brothers. Following her husband''s death Mary enjoyed traveling to many different destinations. She enjoyed the Middle East, especially Jerusalem. She brought back many souvenirs for her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by three children, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was present in southern Utah for all of the atomic tests in Nevada and often witnessed the clouds caused by the explosions. In her later years she moved to Kaysville and was presently living in the Rocky Mountain Care facility in Clearfield, Utah.
Mary enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting and ceramics. She loved to read newspapers and magazines, especially National Geographic.
The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and hospice workers at Rocky Mountain Care center for their many years of helpful and compassionate service.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar City Cemetery next to her husband.
