Mary Ellen “Nell” Nalder
ROY – Mary Ellen “Nell” Vaughn Nalder passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008 at her home of causes incident to age.
She was born September 6, 1916, the seventh child of John Thomas and Cecile Fife Vaughn. She attended Ogden City Schools and Ex-Cel-Cis Beauty College where the teacher said that she was so good they put her in the beauty salon. She had many fond memories of that time.
Nell met her eternal companion at White City at a dance. She married Joseph Warren Nalder on June 22, 1942 in Layton, Utah. They adopted Eddie and Madelyn in 1949 and were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on April 18, 1963. Dad died January 13, 1973.
Mom loved to play bingo. She also loved trips to Wendover and playing cards with her brothers and sisters and her grandchildren whom she loved very much.
Surviving are her son, Edward (Penny) Nalder, Sunset; daughter, Madelyn (Alvin) Humann, Clinton; grandchildren, Joseph (Chris) Nalder, Robert (Jennifer) Nalder, Penny (Tate) Parmer, Merle (Rachael) Nalder, Joseph (Vickey) Humann, Tamara (Kent) Peterson, Adrian T. Humann, Neldon R. Humann and Jeffery (Brianna) Humann; her great-grandchildren, Mark Peterson, William O’Briant, Jacob Christensen, Joshua Christensen, Mercedez Nalder, Taz Nalder, Zane Nalder, Blaze Nalder, Zack Nalder, Tyler Nalder, Ashleigh Nalder, Courtney Nalder, Brittney Nalder, Haylee Nalder, Rylie Nalder, Austin Parmer, Colten Parmer, Sophia Nalder, Nephi Nalder, Disney Nalder, Rebecca Humann and Isabell Humann.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, Adrian (Vi), Jack (Martha), Basil (Elva), Roy (Cot), Velma Vaughn, and her sisters, Cecil (Joe) Naturale, Emily (Bud) Dial and Myrle (Harlow) Hayes.
We as a family would like to thank Hospice for the wonderful care they provided our Mom and Grandmother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
