Mary Jane Newey
OGDEN – Mary Jane Newey, 84, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Emeritus Estates in Ogden.
She was born January 9, 1924 in Lloydell, Pennsylvania, a daughter of John and Eliza Law Myers.
On April 1, 1951, Mary Jane married Donald H. Newey in Arlington, Virginia. Donald preceded her in death.
She was raised and educated in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania. She lived in Ogden since 1951.
Mary Jane retired from McKay-Dee Hospital following many years of service.
She was a member of the Red Hat Club, Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion, Golden Hours Center and Mt. Ogden Archery Club. Mary Jane loved to make ceramics, the outdoors and cooking for others.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Donald T. “Dutch” (Jackie) Newey, Green River, WY; Ronald W. (Glenda) Newey, Phoenix, AZ; Janie (Greg) Edgington, Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one son, Robert “Dub” Newey, four brothers and two sisters.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff at Emeritus Estates, Alpine Home Healthcare, Legacy Hospice and a special friend, Betty Wilson.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
