On Sunday, February 23, 2014, after a fulfilling life, Mary Elinor Young Nielsen, age 90, was called home to be with her loving husband, Nelden.

Mary was born April 9, 1923 in Vernal, Utah to Lorenzo Clifford “Cliff” Young and Susannah “Susie” Colton Young.

After the passing of her mother, Mary, age 6, went to live with her Aunt and Uncle, Dallas and Lucille Young in Provo, Utah.  She graduated from Provo High.  She spent wonderful summers in the Uintah Basin with family and relatives where she met her sweetheart, Nelden.

Mary loved hard work, gardening, cooking, organizing, achieving, reading, politics, and helping others.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nelden and her three brothers: Wilson, John, and Norman Young.

Mary is survived by her five children: Nelden Christian “Chris” Nielsen, Jr. (Peggy), Bountiful, UT;  Aprile Suzanne Warren, Murray, UT; Ronald Y. Nielsen (Nancy), Farmington, UT; Marjorie Nancy Wyler, Draper, UT; and Nathan Thomas Nielsen (Veronique), Randlett, UT.  She has 22 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
