Mary Kathryn Oldroyd Norton
OGDEN a" On a beautiful Saturday morning just as the sun was rising, our beautiful Mom, Wife, Grandma and Sister quietly slipped away from us.
Mom was born November 22, 1929 in Fountain Green, Utah to Emma LaVerne and Milton Oldroyd. She grew up in Provo and spent most summers on the ranch in Chalk Creek with her Papa, Grandma and siblings; Shirley, Ray, Edgel, Johnnie and Doreen.
In 1952, after only three months, Mom married Kenneth Norton after meeting him on a blind date. Mom and Dad started their journey and family in Provo, moving to Ogden in 1960. They have four children, Jim, Tom (Liz), Nancy (Norris), Connie (Harald) and daughter-in-law, Chris.
Mom leaves behind her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she adored.
Mom loved to dance, sing, golf, crochet, knit, play cards with her friends, watch boring golf on TV, the Utah Jazz, Lake Powell family trips, traveling in the monster home and savoring her glass of wine. Most of all, Mom loved spending time with her family and friends.
For the past two and a half years, Mom''s home has been in the memory care unit at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living. Here, she was loved and cared for by so many sweet angels that continued her enjoyment for life. Angels, thank you for the dances, the snuggles, the escapes, taking Mom with you on your breaks and all your support, love and friendship over the years.
To our Hospice for Utah family, thank you for bringing sunshine, laughter, peace and support to our family. Everyone that cared for Mom and our family are exceptional individuals. We love you all and so did our Mom. We treasure the friendships we have shared with families, the residents and our Mom''s personal Angels. You will always be in our prayers and remain in our hearts forever.
