Mary B. Owens
NORTH OGDEN – Mary Brunker Owens, 86, died Friday, March 27, 2009.
She was born June 29, 1922 in Willard, Utah, a daughter of Leslie and Mae Olson Brunker. She attended Box Elder High School.
On October 11, 1941, she married Grant R. Owens in Willard. Grant preceded her in death.
Mary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She received her temple endowments on July 23, 1996 in the Ogden Temple. She served as a Visiting Teacher, Primary President and Teacher, and secretary of the Relief Society.
She had lived in Utah, California, Maine, Washington, England, Libya and Germany.
Mary loved being a homemaker, making crafts, playing the piano, listening to music, dancing, shopping, reading, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed making lace draped porcelain dolls and her travels to Austria, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Spain, Morocco, Italy and Scotland. Mary was a member of the North Ogden City League and served as president, secretary and historian.
Surviving are her children, Ann (Gary) Coleman, Brent (Donna) Owens, Kay (Steve) Vest, Kord (Nancy) Owens, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Willard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
