WASHIGNTON TERRACE a€" Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Benton Palmer, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010.

She was born July 6, 1932 in Ogden, to Robert and Leona Benton.

On September 12, 1953, Mary married Lavon Page Palmer in Elko, Nevada. They were married for 49 years. Lavon preceded her in death on September 20, 2002.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mary made her home in Washington Terrace for 52 years. She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and children with love and patience. She enjoyed spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She always gave each one special attention and was an excellent example of love and patience.

Surviving are her six children, David (Debora) Palmer, Syracuse, UT; James Palmer, Washington Terrace; Richard (Patty) Palmer, Roy; Joy (Delbert) Morris, Eden; Michelle (Mark) Hirschi, Washington Terrace; Carol (Richard) Tonks, North Ogden; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one sister, Roberta Martinez, Layton; and one brother, Don (Vera) Benton, Northridge, CA.

Preceding Mary in death were her husband, her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will greet friends at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
