Mary DeAnn Poore

Mary DeAnn Poore, 71, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

DeAnn was born in Bell, California on September 4, 1937 to Theodore John and Grace Thornton Fessler. Her younger years were spent in Portage, Utah with her loving parents and her two brothers, Theodore and Glenn. Her family moved to West Covina, California where she graduated from Baldwin Park High School. DeAnn and her family were very active in the LDS faith and she lived by and cherished those principles throughout her life. She received her endowments in the Los Angles Temple in 1957.

She was blessed with five children, Jeffery Stanford, Lorie Warburton, Lonny and Jessica Stanford, Glen and Chanin Stanford and Michael Stanford. She married Richard Poore on December 27, 1986 and loved him and his two children for 23 glorious years, Daren Poore and Traci and John Hite. DeAnn and Richard have 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

DeAnn was an artist with decorating, flower arrangements, scrapbooks, flower gardens; she also enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, bird watching. Most of all she enjoyed her puppies, loving and entertaining her family and friends.

Our thanks go out to the nurses and doctors at McKay-Dee and all our friends and family that were there by her side these past months. A special thanks to Kathy and Wayne Hansen, Steve, Jeanie and Cally Bick, Sue and Harold Anderson and the list goes on. Thank You.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June10th at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 8th Ward Chapel, 4000 South 1150 West.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church house.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
