Mary Allen Castleton Price

On August 30, 2011, Mary Allen Castleton Price returned to her Heavenly Father after an extended illness.

She was born to John B. and Martha Louise Gibbs Allen on July 12, 1921 in Portage, Utah. She attended school in Portage, and graduated from Bear River High. This small community provided many wonderful memories, not only for her but generations that followed. She often referred to Portage as "Portage, Portage pretty little town."

Mary met her husband, Stanley Howard Castleton while working in Ogden. They were married in the Logan Temple, February 7, 1945. He was killed a year and a half later while serving in the U.S. Navy as a pilot.

On July 29, 1955, she returned to the Logan Temple marrying her second husband DeVon J. Price. They have been married for 56 years.

Mary was a very dedicated person. She worked at Kresses, Skaggs, I.R.S. and HAFB retiring in July of 1981.

She held many church positions both in ward and stake callings. She was always taking homemade bread and jam to friends, family, and anyone in need. Mary and DeVon served in the Ogden Temple.

Her greatest joy was teaching her grandchildren how to dance the "two-step" or surrounded by her family and having parties (scavenger hunts for the children) at their summer home in North Fork.

Mary also loved to go to Jackson Hole, Wyoming several times a summer to see her favorite performers The Bar J Wranglers. Many summers were spent in the beauties of nature found in Yellowstone National Park with family.

She is survived by her husband DeVon Price, one daughter Tamara (Rod) Southwick; one step-daughter Jeannette (Corky) Hagar; her sister, Zona Hancey; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, two sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd, North Ogden. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Malad, Idaho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests financial donations be made to the Alzheimer''s Medical Foundation or the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the staff at Access Hospice especially Julie, Bonnie, Mark, Melissa, Natalie, and Dr. Stallings for their tender care in behalf of Mary.

Sweetheart, Mom, Grandma, and Grandma-great we will always love you, "A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
