Mary Lou Rhees
PLEASANT VIEW – Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Lou Rhees, 81, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Willow Glen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brigham City.
She was born December 15, 1929 in Willard, a daughter of Ezra William and Mary May Korth Nebeker.
On May 6, 1949, Mary Lou married Carl E. Rhees. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Carl preceded her in death on December 17, 1985.
She was a lifelong resident of Pleasant View where she and her husband raised their four children.
Mary Lou was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.
She enjoyed sewing, shopping, and traveling with her husband and family. She also enjoyed watching baseball, Utah Jazz basketball and despised football.
Surviving are her children, Richard (Diane) Rhees, Taylorsville; Nancy (Gene) Miconi, North Ogden; Ron (Valerie) Rhees, Logan; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister, Nola (Grant) Young, Perry, UT.
Preceding Mary Lou in death were her spouse, her son Val, grandson Daylan, and five brothers, Ferrin, Ross, Ned, Richard, and Don.
The family expresses special thanks to Willow Glen Rehabilitation, especially Anna and Claudia, and Vista Care Hospice, especially Cynthia.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
