Mary Elizabeth Searle

Mary Elizabeth Searle, 89, passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2018. She was the daughter of Michael and Annie Irene McAllister McCarthy, born on December 12, 1928 in Glenwood Springs, CO, where she grew up and graduated from high school.

She met and married Alfred Searle on November 1, 1952 in Vernal, Utah. Alfred and Mary moved to Ogden, Utah, where they resided until Alfred’s death on July 12, 2007 and Mary’s death.

Mary was a member of the Catholic Church and loved her church and her outings with the ladies.

She enjoyed anything outdoors like camping and fishing. She loved her family. She also enjoyed bingo every Friday at the Eagles Lodge and going to Wendover.

Mary is survived by her sons, Merlin (Peggy) Searle of NV; daughters, Carla (John) Berky of Ogden, Carolynn Beach of MS, and Cleora (Elaine) Searle of OR; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; and daughter, Colleen Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
