Mary Vaun Stephenson

November 16, 1929 ~ February 2, 2016

On a cold and sunny, February day a spark of light left this mortal earth to be with the love of her life.  Mary Vaun Stephenson, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.  She was born on November 16, 1929 in Moroni, Utah, the daughter of Alfred Lee and Artie Johanna Nielsen Nunley.

Mary was raised and lived most of her life in Utah, except seven years in Pueblo, Colorado.

On August 16, 1946, Mary married the love of his life, Eldred Clem Stephenson, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Her family was the greatest joy of her life

Mary is survived by her sons, Lee (Dee) Stephenson and Paul (April) Stephenson: daughters, Jan (Randy) Higginson and Gaelynn (Paul) Sewell; daughter-in-law, Pauline Molenaar; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and one grandson, Derek Donel Stephenson.

A Celebration of Life and Graveside services will be held at a later date.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
