Mary Elba Stone
CLEARFIELD – Mary Elba Stone passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2009. She will be missed, but we believe her love and influence will be reflected in each of our lives.
Elba was born June 10, 1917 in Ogden Utah to Ray Arthur Ross and Ethel Jane Stone.
She married Joseph Earl Stone on January 8, 1944 in Ogden, Utah and later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Elba grew up in Ogden and graduated from Weber High School. She graduated from beauty school as a beautician that enabled her to give service to many friends and family members over the years. She also worked at the Army Utah General Depot for two years. Later, she worked for Associated Food Stores where she developed many cherished friendships.
Mother lived a full life by cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and spoiling her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her love and handmade gifts. She never had an empty cookie drawer and her talent for making pies was unsurpassed.
Elba is survived by her two children: Joseph Michael Stone (Eileen) of Brigham City and Kathleen Rae Moultrie (Tim) of Kaysville; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Clarence (Shorty), Elbert Emer, and Roy Alan; and two sisters, Kathryn and Vera Ethel Buckley.
