KAYSVILLE – Mary Sherner Talbot , 81, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008. She was born October 31, 1926 to Peter Charles and Florence Butcher Sherner, in Salt Lake City, UT. She married George L. Talbot on July 19, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Mary lived her entire life in Kaysville, UT growing fruit. She was a private piano and organ teacher and was an organist in many wards and stakes. Mary was the stake music director, cultural refinement teacher, genealogy instructor, president of North Davis Co. Chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and received many church callings. She was active in the JC Club and the Rotary Ann’s. Mary was a life member of DUP and the Literary Club, she volunteered at the DUP Museum, she was a Kaysville historian and tour guide and held many other civic positions.
Mary loved her grandchildren, music, flowers, travel, reading and needlework.
Survived by George, her loving husband of 64 years, sons, Steven (Elaine) Talbot and Lincoln (Joleen) Talbot, both of Kaysville, ten grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, son, P. Michael Talbot, great-granddaughter, Emilee Lynn Talbot.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
