Mary Gene Wells

Mary Gene Wells OGDEN – Our beloved sister, grandmother, and aunt, age 84, passed away Wednesday, February 24 2010. Gene was born on March 11, 1925 to Elmer and Gladys Nielson. She married the love of her life, Everette Wells on January 15, 1943 and together raised their beloved son, Bruce. Gene worked at the Bank of Utah for 29 years, serving as a teller and the first female Vice President of commercial loans, retiring in 1982. She loved cooking, collecting roosters, golfing, painting, knitting, her two dogs and the Utah Jazz. She is survived by her two sisters, Peggy (Jay) Barker and Jolene (Charley) Jones, one brother, Karl (Debbie) Nielson; and also by her much loved granddaughters, grandson, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, two brothers, one sister and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. John Hemmersmeier for his love and care.
