Mary Janet Wood

Mary Janet Wood LAYTON – Mary (Janet) Wood, 70, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1938 in Waynoka, Oklahoma the daughter of Henry and Edna Barnett Sacket. Janet married Richard Wood on October 29, 1966 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Janet worked as a closing officer for Washington Mutual. She was a member of the Layton Hills Baptist Church. Janet was a past guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel 15 and a life member of Beta Sigma-phi. She also worked with the Linus Project. Janet enjoyed crocheting and sprint car racing. Surviving are her husband Richard Wood, Layton; two daughters, Tammy Jo Wood, Rebekah Hare, Ogden; two grandchildren, Randi Joy Hare, Terri Lyn Hare, Ogden; great-grandson, Jaydan, Ogden; three sisters, Maxine Pratt, Grand Prairie, TX; Deva McFarland, Alamogordo, NM; and Joy Prothro, Tulsa, OK. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother Devon (Jack). Memorial services will be held Monday, October 20, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
