OGDEN a€" "Oh Shit" - Marylin Casteel Larson passed away in the company of her family on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital following a lingering illness. She will be remembered as the most generous, thoughtful, and kind person anyone could know. She never thought of herself first a€" it was always "what do you need?" She was such a fun person to be around and never took life too seriously.

She was born April 19, 1936 in Ogden, to Marv and Mary Casteel. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1954.

Marylin married Garel Larson on December 21, 1954 in Elko, Nevada. They sealed their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1956.

She worked as a babysitter, at the local softball parks, as a lunch lady and as a supervising clerk for the Ogden City 2nd District Court, where she retired from in 1996.

Marylin enjoyed her bridge club, reading books, walking in the mall, and she loved entertaining her family and friends. Marylin also loved to travel, visiting her favorite places such as Palm Desert, San Diego, Washington D.C., New York City, and spending time on the Oregon coast.

Marylin is survived by her husband Garel, their children, Marvin (Becky) Larson, Bambi (Rod) Ormond, MaryAnn (Gary) Koch; her grandchildren, Noel Larson, Clint Ormond, Carly (Dave) Essig, Riley (Shannon) Thomas, Kyle Thomas, and great-grandson, Noah Thomas; step-grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Courtney Larson, Emily and Haley Koch; and step-great-grandson, Scott Davis.

Also surviving are siblings, Marlin (Leora) Casteel, Margene (Bob) Johnson, Mikie (Roger) Gibson; Garel''s sisters, Diane (Dave) Murphy, Carol (Ken) Walter.

Marylin was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Friday, February 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
