Marylyn Taylor D’Hulst Flint, wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Friday, April 7, 2023. She was born September 20, 1934 to Mildred Barlow and Don Austin Taylor. She grew up in Clearfield with her younger siblings, Donna (deceased), Don B. (deceased) and Joyce. Mary graduated from Davis High School in 1952.
She married Daniel I. D’Hulst on November 27, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 5, 1954. They resided in Ogden and had six children together: Dana Lyn (Jess) Sharkey; Daniel I. “Brad” D’Hulst, Jr.; Natalie (Lynn) Dearden; Madeliene D’Hulst (deceased); Charles (Laura) D’Hulst; Todd D’Hulst (deceased). After 26 years, they divorced. Mary has 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She married Gary S. Flint on November 7, 1980. They made their home in Hooper and created 42 years of joyful memories. His children are: Shellie (Clint) Naisbett; Debbie (Jeff) Cox; Lezlie (Rick) Rogers. This brought Mary an additional 13 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving as a ministering sister was one of her favorite callings as she grew older. She took comfort in reading the scriptures.
Throughout her life Mary developed and had many interests including ceramics, embroidery, quilting and reading. She spent many hours outside tending to her yard. Her garden of potted plants surrounding the patio was beautiful and well-nurtured. She loved large family holiday gatherings and making sure everyone was remembered at Christmas with a gift. And we cannot forget her love of the Utah Jazz.
Mary was employed at Hill Air Force Base, Grand Central, Wonder Bread Bakery and then returned to Hill Air Force Base for 27 years before retiring.
The family would like to thank Intermountain Healthcare and Hospice for their kind and compassionate service. We would also like to thank the Lakeview Ward for their support to Mary and her family.
