Matena Rochelle Stam Bush

OGDEN – Matena Rochelle Stam Bush, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden after a ten year battle with cancer.

She reunites with her husband Meno Bush; sister, Viola Stam Payne; and brother, Richard Stam, but leaves behind daughters, Emmy and Katie Bravo; and sons, Duston and Kasey Bush; as well 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Born in Alameda, CA, the daughter of Emmy Van T Hoff Stam and James Adrianus Stam, before her life in Utah.

On August 19, 1972, Matena wed to husband, Meno Bush in Oakland, CA. They lived a happy life together and raised four kids. In 1991 they moved to Utah, where they built a home for them and their children.

Most known as Tena, she was a wonderful woman of many special talents and qualities.  She had an impact on not only people she met, but everyone around her. In 2007, Tena was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After the long battle with chemo therapy, she was cancer free. However, just shy of her 5th Anniversary being cancer ridden, it came back. The cancer came back as stage 4 bone cancer, the most painful cancer. Tena fought valiantly, after two years of painful endurance, Tena was able to be pain free and full of comfort in her passing.

Tena’s Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Riverdale Stake Center, 4000 Parker Dr., Riverdale, with a luncheon following.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
