WEST HAVEN – Matthew Ryan Pearce, 24, passed away November 20, 2013 in Layton, UT. He was born February 23, 1989 in Salt Lake City, UT to Bret and Mari Ann Van Wagoner Pearce. Matthew grew up in Salt Lake City and Layton UT. He graduated from Layton High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout. On May 21, 2011, he married the love of his life Aleisha Vega in Roy, UT. They have lived in West Haven, UT. Matthew enjoyed working on computers, fixing and rebuilding them. He loved Youtube and playing video games on his Playstation. He loved playing with his nephews and niece; Spencer, Alex, Isaac and Cavitt Peterson, Bodee Ostrup, Parker, Lincoln and Sophia Bergeson. He loved camping, true camping with a tent and fishing with his father-in-law Ray. He loved playing jokes on his family. He loved watching movies and cartoons. His favorite was Dragonballz. He is survived by his wife, Aleisha; parents Bret and Mari Pearce; siblings Melissa, Cassie and Jackson; in-laws Ray and LeAnn Vega; sister-in-laws, Christina (Michael) Petersen, Theresa (Brandon) Ostrup; brother-in-law, Jason (Katie) Bergeson; grandparents, Jerry and Renae Pearce, Leon and Ann Poulsen; seven nephews, one niece, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by Ruth Van Wagoner, Bryan Pearce and Dallin Pearce. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 213 at 11:00 a.m. and Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family to help pay for funeral expenses.
