Mattie B Turner Monsen

Mattie B Monsen, affectionately known by friends and acquaintances as B, died peacefully on December 11, 2016, in Bountiful, UT, one month prior to her 95th birthday. Born January 21, 1922, in Lewiston, UT, to Walter Jasper Turner and Mattie B Clarkson Turner. Married Boyd Boone Monsen on September 16, 1942, in Logan, UT, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2005.

 B graduated from North Cache HS and was proud of her 4 yr. seminary pin. She was a long time member of the Layton 12th Ward and later served as Relief Society President of the Layton 1st Ward.

She had a strong work ethic and retired from Hill AFB after positions in the F-4 Division and payroll. B had a talent as an excellent pie and cake maker and produced beautiful hand crocheted items. Boyd and B loved to travel throughout the US, and visited many countries including Canada, Mexico, the UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. 

 B is survived by sons, Boyd G. (Linda), Dallas C. (Susanne), daughter Patricia Jean; grandchildren: Quinn (Yoko), Kevin, Kimberly, Gavin (Sara), Amanda (Ryan); and great-grandchild, Kanako Amaris.

 A private graveside farewell was held in Layton, UT, on December 14, 2016.
