SOUTH OGDEN – Evelyn Maurice Roberts Chipp, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in South Ogden, UT. She was 84 years old.

Maurice was born on January 7, 1933, in Kemmerer, WY, to Ted and Stella Smith Roberts. She attended Wyoming schools and graduated from Kemmerer High School.

She married Willard A. Chipp III on October 19, 1952, and they moved to Ogden in 1954. Together they raised four sons.

Maurice worked for the IRS for 23 ½ years, retiring on June 1, 1994.

Maurice’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was most happy when in the company of her family.

In her younger years, she loved camping with Willard and her children and then adding the grandchildren to the fun as they came along. Green River Lakes was a favorite camping destination. As she got a little older, she loved traveling and cruising with family and friends.

Maurice attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and devoted much of her time to service work there. She was a caring, loving friend to all and helped out whomever and wherever she could. She will be missed so much by so many.

Surviving are her sons, John R. (Ruth) Chipp, Rock Springs, WY; William M. (Wendy) Chipp, Mountain Green, UT; Jere P. (Wendy) Chipp, Roy, UT; and James A. (Kelly) Chipp, Roy, UT; her brother, Edward (Linda) Roberts, Kemmerer, WY, 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Maurice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard; her sister, Gnell Roberts; and her grandson, Shane Chipp.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th St. Recitation of the Holy Rosary for family and friends will be held on Monday at 6 p.m., followed by a visitation with family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment will be on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at South Lincoln Cemetery, Kemmerer, WY.
