WASHINGTON TERRACE - Maurice George Fausett, 86, born August 24, 1921 to Thelma Jones and George Orlin Fausett in Price, Utah, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Sunday, December 9, 2007. He left his wife of 66 years, Irene Burton Fausett, of Washington Terrace; six children, Maurene (Tom) Burton of Layton; Lynette (Bud) Nye of Clearfield; Terry (Mellody) Fausett of Riverdale; Rick (Eileen) Fausett of West Point; Cory (Carollynn) Fausett of Roy; and Jami (Jeff) Runyan of Brigham City; 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Maurice and Irene were married in Price, Utah on June 17, 1939 and later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They recently moved to Brigham City.

As a veteran of World War II, he served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1944 to 1945.

Maurice was an expert neon sign glass blower for many years.

Maurice loved to make people laugh and is remembered most for his pantomime skills to old Spike Jones records such as "John and Marsha" and "Beetle Bomb" (the horse race). He was fiercely patriotic and passionate in his politics. After retirement he and some of his slower moving buddies would go out weekly for a burger and solve the worlds problems returning home refreshed and with a treat for his wife.

His final years were spent in caring for Irene and going to the temple. He loved his wife, family, God, and anyone who needed help.

Also surviving are his siblings, Richard Fausett, San Jose, CA; Laurie Fausett, Sacramento, CA; David Fausett, Florida; and Ilene Grant, Illinois.

Maurice was preceded in death by his infant son, William, and two brothers, Vee and Neil Fausett.
