Maurice Jesse Fowers

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri a€" Maurice Fowers, 97, finished his life''s mission Monday, August 13, 2007 at his home in Springfield, Missouri. Supported with the love and devoted care of his daughter, Connie.

He was born July 29, 1910 in West Weber, Utah, to Jesse and Emily Green Fowers. He was a graduate of Weber High School.

Maurice married Mary Phillips, together they had two daughters, Bonnie and Connie, they later divorced. On July 13, 1943 he married LaRee Barnard. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden L.D.S. Temple on July 31, 1974.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he returned to work at the Ogden Arsenal in 1954. He then worked at Hillfield AFB for 16 years, retiring in 1970.

He was an active member of the Memorial Park L.D.S. ward, where he served in many capacities, including a counselor in the Bishopric.

Maurice loved gardening; he grew wonderful fruits and vegetables, which he shared with many. "We miss your wonderful raspberries and beautiful gladiolas". Years ago, he enoyed boating, water skiing, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his daughter, Connie Joan Luttman, a son-in-law, Richard Emde, Springfield, MO; Velvet (Richard) Cope, Ogden. Five grandchildren, Dianna Smith, Judy (Bob) Baty, Ruth (Randy) Sade, MaryBeth MacDonald, Ralee (Ruben) Gomez. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Preceded him in death were his parents, his wife LaRee, two daughters, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
