Maurine Broderick Johnson

“I Love You More”

Our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Maurine Broderick Johnson passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 29, 2015.  She was 92.

Maurine was born on April 15, 1922 to Clinton J and Roseltha Pearce Broderick in Emery, Utah.  Mom loved growing up on the farm in Emery, so close to her uncles, aunts, grandparents and cousins and always wished she could go back and live there someday.

On December 11, 1938, she married her sweetheart, Donald Anthon Johnson.  Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on February 15, 1956.  They lived in Emery, Moab, Salt Lake City, West Bountiful, Woods Cross and finally 40 years in Farmington.

Mom and Dad enjoyed many winters in Quartzsite, Arizona, making beautiful memories and enjoying wonderful friendships.  Don passed away on June 25, 1992.

She was an amazing example of kindness and love to all those around her.  She was a beautiful person who truly embodied the unconditional love of her Savior.  She was adored by her husband, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.  Nothing was more important to her than her family.  She will live in our hearts forever.

She served in several positions in her LDS faith including Primary and Relief Society.  She loved family history, crafts, crocheting, roses and collecting recipes.

She was the oldest of four children, who preceded her in death, brother Ronald J Broderick (Lorna), sisters Helen LaVoy Broderick Leppert (John), LeOra Broderick Fish (Hugh).

She is survived by her daughter, LaDawn Johnson Jacobson and son Kerry Lynn Johnson (Joey) as well as four grandchildren; Benjamin (Jen) Johnson, Aaron (Lisa) Johnson, Mischelle (Eric) Colby, and Kellie (Quentin) Stephens; eleven great-grandchildren Adam, Luke, Nick, Beau, Jake, Kacee, Spencer, Jordyn, Kiera, Makenna, and Kasidee. She is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John D and Beth Johnson as well as many nephews and nieces.
