Maurine McFarland

LAYTON – Our happy, energetic mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away September 14, 2015 due to respiratory failure surrounded by her loving family.

Maurine (Jane) was born June 18, 1928 in Corrine, Utah to Carl John Anderson and Annie Olena Poulsen.

She married Renald Robert McFarland, September 6, 1946 in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They raised a fun-loving, and noisy family of nine children, with 32 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her husband 14 years prior.

Jane loved her family, children, music, reading and teaching children.  She loved gardening and exploring the great outdoors.

Maurine was a woman of unwavering faith and held many callings in the LDS church, from Stake Primary chorister, Stake Camp Director, Relief Society, Primary, faithfully serving wherever she was called.  She found great joy in being the ward greeter and loved being a member of the DUP.

Her nine children are Steven (Marsha) McFarland, Annette (Dave) Wigham, Janene (Randy) Bennett, Tina Lee (Randy) Rhodes, Jeff McFarland-deceased, Ginger (Sam) Beeson, Wendy (Bob) Christensen, Jill (Steven) Christensen, Jodi (Jacob) Smalley.

Preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
