Max H. Joe Dalton, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at his home on April 23, 2012.
Joe was born September 23, 1925 in Ogden, Utah. He was the son of Charlie and Martha Dalton. He grew up on a farm in West Point, Utah.
He enlisted in the Navy and served from 1943 to 1945, with part of that time spent aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Bennington. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed at Hill Air Force Base where he worked for 33 years.
Joe married Beverly Morby on August 19, 1950 in Coalville, Utah. They had been married for 61 years. They raised two daughters, Susan and Jolene and spent many happy years as a family. Some of the family''s happiest memories include the summer spent in Ohio while Joe was on TDY. They traveled to many of the eastern states during that time.
After retiring from Hill Air Force Base, he started Dalton Bookkeeping Services with his wife, Beverly. He volunteered for many years preparing income taxes for the Senior Citizens of Ogden and Coalville.
Bev and Joe traveled extensively to Europe, China, Iceland and the Panama Canal. Joe particularly enjoyed traveling with his brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Marilyn Kendrick and with the Gailey Family and their music trips.
Joe will be remembered for his kindness, his work ethic, his garden, and his love for his wife and family. He was thrilled to include Michael and Doug as his sons-in-law. Joe was extremely supportive of his grandchildren. He spent many hours attending sporting events, music recitals, award ceremonies and weddings. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Dean; his daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and Doug Gailey; his grandchildren, Christopher and Jen Dean, Amber and Chris Fritz, Joshua Gailey, and Justin Gailey, and his great-grandchildren, Makayla Martinez and Mason Dean.
