LAYTON - Max BrysonA Holbrook, beloved husband, father,A grandfather, uncle, and brotherA passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at his home in Layton of causes incident to age. He was surrounded by his loving family.A Max was born on December 21, 1921 in Woods Cross, Utah, to David and Mary Holbrook.A Max graduated from Davis High School, class of 1940 and attended Utah State Agricultural College.A Max married the love of his life, Blanche Crawley, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 24, 1942.A They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this year.A Max served in the Air Force in Italy during World War II.A In his lifetime, Max owned farms west of Delta, West Bountiful,A and in North Ogden.A A He was a supervisor at Hill Air Force Base before retiring.A After retirement, Max built and managed an apartment complex in East Layton. A Max wasA an active member of the LDS Church serving in many positions through his life, including a mission later in life with his wife.A Together Max and BlancheA reared four sons.A Max''s greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by his family whoA loved him dearly.A Max had a great sense of humor and a special way with his children and grandchildren.A A Max was a leading influence in the lives of his sons and grandchildren, teaching them the value of love, family, and work.A One of Max''s favorite activities was fishing with his family.A He loved having his family help him with family work projects, teaching them valuable skills.A Max considered work asA a family celebration, and we celebrated a lot!A Max had a reputation for being congenial and fair in all of his dealings.A MaxA valuedA fairness and exhibited integrityA throughout his life.A A A Max was the last member of his birth family to pass away.A Max was preceded in death by his son Phillip Ryan Holbrook, and is survived by his loving wife, Blanche, and his three other sons, Max Crawley (Wendi Wolfard) Holbrook , Brad Lee (JoLinn) Holbrook, Gregory Paul (Karen) Holbrook, and his daughter-in-law Barbara Holbrook.A Max and Blanche have 19 grandchildren andA 35 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. A Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Snow Canyon Ward, 2475 N. Valley View Dr. Layton. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
