Max Lee King
OGDEN-Max Lee King passed away on June 10, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Max was born on November 1, 1925 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Forrest Fountain Leroy King and Mary Celesta Lee King.
He served in the U.S. Navy from August 29, 1943 until November 11, 1946. He served in the Marine Corps World War II from July 24, 1948 to November 30, 1964. He later was a Captain for Hill Air Force Base Security from 1966 to 1983.
Max married Roberta Jewell Fitch King on March 8, 1952 in Ogden, Utah.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served on the High Council, as well as Ward Clerk and Executive Secretary for eight bishops. He was a Temple Worker in the Ogden Temple.
Prior to the military he had a boxing contract in Ogden.
Max enjoyed gardening, hiking and genealogy work.
He is survived by one daughter Teresa DeeAnn (Mathew) Buller, Ogden, UT; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers Wayne (Karen) King and Lloyd (Agetha) King and one sister Larae King Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta Jewell King, parents, six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Hollows Ward Chapel, 1550 Rushton St.
Family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Plain City Cemetery, 1975 N. 4425 W.
