Max Alfredo Martinez
CLEARFIELD a" Max Alfredo Martinez, 69, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at the University of Utah Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born June 27, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Max and Bernice Velazquez Martinez. He lived most of his life in the Layton/Clearfield area.
Max was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, and a graduate of Davis High School. He was retired from Hill A.F. B. where he was a Material Planner.
Max''s family and grandchildren completed him as he loved to spend time with them. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and running the table on anyone who dare challenge him to a game of pool.
Max is survived by his mother, Bernice, Sunset; sons: Lonnie A. (Lark), Kaysville; Marty J. (Melanie), Layton; Kelly A., No. Ogden; and Jason M., Clearfield; his daughters: Tami V. Martinez, and Lisa M. Martinez (Kenny Chacon) both of Clearfield; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his brother Harold Martinez, Albuquerque, NM.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Martinez and sister, Jenny Salazar.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 S. State St., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Monsignor Bonnell, Celebrant.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at the University of Utah Medical Center. A special thanks to dad''s special friend, Virginia Arguello.
To our father and grandfather, we will dearly miss you and look forward to the day when we can all be together again. Love, your family
